Safety in our stores
Food Safety Inspectors
Associates who handle food are trained in food safety and safe
food handling practices. The food safety team inspects every store
quarterly to make sure that stores are complying with Shaw's policies
and procedures. These policies and procedures meet and many times
exceed federal, state and local regulations.
Temperature monitoring
The temperature that food is stored at is a crucial part
of food safety. We have installed temperature monitoring
technology in our stores to keep track of temperatures.
In fact, most of our refrigerated display cases and coolers
are linked to a 24-hour computer alarm that tell us if the
temperature goes above 41°F.
