Where can I purchase Gift Cards?
Gift Cards can be purchased online. To purchase a gift card online, click here. Gift Cards can also be found in stores near the checkout lanes and in various aisles/departments throughout the store.
Where are Gift Cards accepted?
Our Gift Cards are accepted for merchandise purchases at Shaw’s and Star Markets.
How can I purchase a large number of Gift Cards?
Customers may call our Customer Interaction Center at 1-877-932-7948 to place large dollar and quantity Gift Card orders.
How do I use a Gift Card?
Take your purchases to the register and present your Gift Card to the cashier. The purchase total will be deducted from the Card balance. The remaining Gift Card balance will print on your sales receipt.
Can anyone use a Gift Card?
Yes, treat your Gift Card like cash. Your name does not appear on the Card, so anyone can use it. You may use it yourself or give it to anyone you choose.
How can I pay for Gift Cards when purchasing them?
Our stores accept cash, checks, credit cards and debit cards to purchase Gift Cards.
When are funds available for use after purchasing Gift Cards?
Funds are available approximately 15 minutes after the activation of a Gift Card.
What denominations are available?
Gift Cards can be purchased for any amount between $5 and $500. Cards available online are in the denomination of $10, $25, $50 and $100. Pre-denominated Cards in values of $10, $15, $25 and $50 are available in store while supplies last.
What can I purchase with a Gift Card?
Gift Cards can be used for merchandise purchases in stores. They may not be used for services such as stamps, lottery tickets or money orders.
Can a purchase be made without a Gift Card being present?
No. For the protection of all our customers, a Gift Card must be present to make a purchase.
Does a Gift Card have an expiration date?
No. However, if a Gift Card has a zero balance for longer than 90 days, the Card will become inactive.
How can I check the balance on a Gift Card?
To obtain a remaining Card balance, you may take your Card to a store and have a cashier look it up, check your sales receipt from the last time you used your Gift Card, or call our Customer Interaction Center at 1-877-932-7948.
Can I reload value onto a Gift Card?
Yes. Gift Cards that do not have a printed value on the front of the gift card may be reloaded. Take your Gift Card to any register and present it to the cashier. Pay for the amount you wish to add to the Card balance. The cashier will complete the transaction. Total Card balance cannot exceed $500. Gift Cards cannot be reloaded over the phone or online.
Does a Gift Card balance have to be zero before reloading additional funds?
No. Additional funds can be added at any time by visiting one of our stores. Value cannot exceed $500 at any given time.
Can I receive cash back from a Gift Card?
You cannot receive cash back from your Gift Card, except where provided by law.
Can I restrict the types of items someone can purchase with a Gift Card?
No. At this time, your Gift Card can be used to purchase any merchandise at our stores.
What happens if I lose a Gift Card?
Your Gift Card should be treated as cash and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
Can the unused portion of a lost Gift Card be deactivated?
No. Card balances cannot be blocked. You must protect your Gift Card and treat it as cash.

Is there a limit to the number times I can use a Gift Card in a day?
No. There is no limit to the number to times you can use your Gift Card daily.
What should I do if I loaded value on a Gift Card at a store, but the card balance does not reflect that?
Take your Card and your sales receipt back to the Customer Service Desk at the store that loaded the value on your Card. They will research what happened and work with you to resolve the issue.
If I don't live near one of your stores, can I order a Gift Card and have it sent to someone?
Yes. You may call our Customer Interaction Center at 1-877-932-7948 and speak to a representative that can assist you or order online.
What happens when a Gift Card balance reaches zero? Should I throw the card away?
You can reload a zero balance Gift Card with additional value within 90 days of the Card reaching a zero balance. If the Card remains inactive with a zero balance for more than 90 days, you cannot reload value to the Card.
Will service fees be deducted from a Gift Card?
No. We do not charge any fees on our Gift Cards. Your entire unused balance will remain on the Card.
