Responsibility

Since 1860, we at Shaw's have understood that with the privilege of community membership comes responsibility. The responsibility to act in the best interest of the one another. To be both active and genuinely helpful where and when it's most needed. Nothing less is acceptable. Period.

Participation Dedication

We're a part of many different communities, each with its own unique needs. At Shaw's, we take pride in getting to know what those needs are, and in pitching-in however we can. We support the organizations that best contribute to the overall quality of life of the community, and encourage our individual Associates to show the same level of commitment in their personal lives.

So whether it's pitching-in at a youth concert or lending a hand to the children's museum, sponsoring pre-natal nutritional programs, or making donations to a local food bank, you can be sure Shaw's is behind the causes that are most important to you.

Our policies on donations

At Shaw's, we contribute on three levels: neighborhood, regional and corporate.

Neighborhood Projects

Whether a major initiative or something as simple as donating cups, napkins and food for a special event, our support of the local community can be seen just about everyday. Determined by each local store, neighborhood projects are those that have a direct effect on the people and places we see every day. Your request for neighborhood help should be addressed and personally given or mailed to your Store Manager.

Regional Donations

Regional donations include those projects that impact more than one store location, and contributions - up to $500 - are determined by Shaw's Market Area Directors. For Regional Requests in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, please go to the "How to Apply for a Donation" link at the bottom of this page.

Corporate Donations

Contributions of more than $500 are considered Corporate Donations and are coordinated from Shaw's Store Support Center in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

In addition to the United Way and Second Harvest Food Banks throughout New England, Shaw's lends a hand to many other non-profit causes and organizations through capital development fund drives and sponsorship programs. If you're interested in applying for corporate funding, please go to the "How to Apply for a Donation" link at the bottom of this page.
